Product Data ® 58EJB Deluxe Horizontal Gas Furnace Input Capacities: 50,000 thru 125,000 Btuh Carrier presents the 58EJB, a horizontal condensing furnace that excels in the competitive market of high-efficiency gas furnaces. The 58EJB is a technologically advanced furnace offering dependable and economical heating. The 58EJB utilizes an intermittent ignition device (IID) system which ignites the burners directly — eliminating a gas-wasting continuous pilot and the problems associated with the small gas orifice inherent in pilot assemblies.

The 58EJB incorporates control of ignition, inducer, and blower operation into 1 central printedcircuit board, resulting in a reliable and uncomplicated system. Induced combustion contributes significantly to the heat transference efficiency of the 58EJB. Using 100% outdoor air for combustion in sealed piping, the induced-combustion system removes the need for outdoor air infiltration into the home to support combustion. Additionally, the induced-combustion system isolates operational noise to make the 58EJB one of the quietest furnaces in the industry. A special, corrosion-resistant steel secondary heat exchanger extracts additional heat in the 58EJB and conveys it to the airstream that warms the home. This heat exchanger is a specially designed version of the tube and fin type utilized for years because of its reliability. All these features result in a furnace that will not only heat your home comfortably for many years to come, but do it with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) up to 94%. 1994 Carrier Corporation Form 58EJB-1PD This document was created with FrameMaker 4.0.4 The 58EJB is easy to install, which means lower installation costs. At 54-1/2 in. long, it can be conveniently installed in new or replacement applications. The furnace is equipped for left or right gas, electrical, and vent pipe connections as well as having adjustable blower speeds to fit most applications. Carrier makes adjusting blower speeds easy with a speed-tap selector located on the blower motor. There is no need to remove the blower or perform other complex procedures. With a Carrier gas furnace, your options are open when it comes to expanding your comfort system — air conditioners, heat recovery ventilators, humidifiers, and electronic air cleaners are among the offerings. A factory-installed 40-va transformer, air conditioner relay, and multispeed blower simplify the installation of add-on options. Carrier’s 58EJB Horizontal Condensing Furnace heat exchangers are backed by a 20-year warranty. See your dealer for more details. 58EJB FEATURES/ BENEFITS Certifications — The 58EJB units are A.G.A. and C.G.A. design certified for use with natural and propane gases. The efficiency is GAMA efficiency rating certified. The 58EJB meets the oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emission levels set by South Coast and Bay Area Air Quality Management Districts in California. Warranty — 20-year warranty on the heat exchangers, 1-year warranty on microprocessor control. Your dealer has details. Side Wall Venting — The combustion-air and vent pipes can terminate through a side wall or through the roof when used with a factory-specified vent termination. Intermittent Ignition — No continuous pilot flame to waste gas or cause problems. Redundant Gas Valve — Shuts off gas to burners if 1 of the valves fails to close completely for any reason. Insulation — Foil-faced insulation in heat exchanger section of the casing minimizes heat loss. Printed-Circuit Board
