Follow all safety codes. Wear safety glasses and work gloves. Have fire extinguisher available. INTRODUCTION This instruction covers the installation of the hot surface ignitor (HSI) bracket kit Part No. 320030-751 in models 373LAV, 376CAV, 383KAV, 395CAV, 58DHC, 58PAV, 58RAV, 58SSC, 58WAV, and 58ZAV Gas Furnaces. DESCRIPTION AND USAGE The HSI bracket kit is used to move the HSI out of the burner flame and to the burner carryover for improved ignitor life and ignition characteristics. NOTE: If unit is of the Fig. 3 configuration, the burners MUST be removed prior to removing ignitor and bracket assembly. 7. Remove ignitor from ignitor bracket and discard bracket. Step 2–Reassemble New Ignitor and Bracket 1. Before installing removed ignitor onto new bracket, check cold ignitor resistance. The resistance should be 40-90 ohms. If the resistance is greater than 90 ohms, the ignitor should be replaced. 2. Choose correct replacement bracket from Fig. 1, 2, or 3 based on type of burner support and ignitor bracket on unit. 3. Install existing or new ignitor on new bracket with No. 8 X 3/4-in. screw. 4. It may be necessary to enlarge gripper hole in burner support to size of a clearance hole for mounting bracket 321250-301. 5. Reinstall ignitor and bracket assembly using No. 8 X 1/2-in. screw per Fig. 1, 2, or 3. Be careful not to damage ignitor.
